ERA Shanghai Seating Zones Explained

ERA sells five seating tiers from VIP down to Zone D — here is how they compare on view and distance from the stage, so you can pick a zone before checking the current price on GetYourGuide.

ERA seating zones

ZoneWhat you get
VIPFront-and-centre, closest to the stage, best for photos
Zone ARecommended — close enough for detail; best rows 3-4 near the aisle
Zone BGood middle ground; inner-circle seats flagged as better
Zone CNot recommended — remote from the stage
Zone DNot recommended — most remote seating

The Five Seating Tiers

ERA sells tickets across five tiers: VIP, and Zones A through D. VIP is the top tier, buying the seats closest to the stage and to the motorcycle cage finale — the best position if photos or an unobstructed view matter to you. The four remaining zones step down from there by distance rather than price alone, with Zone A positioned as the recommended mid-tier option. The same tier structure applies whether you're seeing the 60-minute or the 100-minute show. Check the live GetYourGuide listing for current tier availability and pricing before booking.

Zone A: The Recommended Middle Option

Zone A sits close enough to the stage to see performer detail clearly, with the third and fourth rows near the aisle singled out as a good compromise between position and cost. It's the tier most visitors land on when VIP feels unnecessary but the back zones feel too far from the action.

Zones B, C, and D Compared

Zones B, C, and D differ mainly by seat location rather than anything else. Zone B is generally the better choice of the three — seats in its inner circle, closer to the centre of the zone, are flagged as noticeably better than seats toward its edges. Zones C and D sit further back and aren't generally recommended, since the distance from the stage makes it harder to follow the smaller-scale acts, even though the motorcycle finale itself stays visible from most of the room.

No Child or Senior Concessions

ERA does not offer age-based pricing — every seat in every zone is sold at the same rate regardless of the age of the person attending. If you're budgeting for a family visit, plan on booking a full seat for each person in your group, including young children who will be occupying one. It's worth confirming this before you arrive, since some other Shanghai attractions and shows do offer age-based pricing, and it would be easy to assume ERA follows the same pattern — it doesn't.

All Sales Are Final

Tickets bought directly from the venue's box office are final — there's no refund process there if your plans change. Booking through the GetYourGuide listing here is different: it carries free cancellation up to 24 hours before the show. Either way, it's worth confirming your date, showtime, and runtime expectations before you complete a purchase. Since showtimes and even which runtime version is showing on a given date can shift, the safest approach is to lock in the details you care about — date, time, seating zone — right before you buy.
